How will you assess and teach my child?

These are the standards and domains I will be using to assess your child as well as teach them:

Connecticut Early Developmental Learning Standards:

 https://www.ctoec.org/supporting-child-development/ct-elds/

Connecticut Documentation and Observation for Teaching:  Connecticut Documentation & Observation for Teaching System (CT DOTS) - Connecticut Office of Early Childhood

Domains of Learning: https://www.ctoec.org/supporting-child-development/ct-elds/domains-of-learning-and-development/

How Long is Each Session?

The initial intake evaluation will take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours, and then a regular home visit or "school day" will be approximately 3 hours at any jointly approved time.

What are the hours of operation for Madeline's Method?

The way Madeline's Method works is the client/family and the manager (Madeline) will set up a mutually agreed-upon time that fits both of our schedules. The parent(s) MUST be present during the entire evaluation period to accommodate for questions asked by the educator. There will be the educator's availability listed on the "Booking" tab of this website through our calendar app.

What is the child to educator ratio?

With our unique method, each student will have one on one time with an educator. If the student has siblings whom are also using the method, time will be set aside each day for each child to have their own session alone with the educator. Families can also request that the siblings work together during one session with the same educator. For example, if there is a family with a boy of 2 years old and a girl of 4 years old, the family can choose that the educator work with the 2 year old from 7 am to 10am and the 4 year old from 12 pm to 3 pm or the family can opt for a 4 hour session in the morning (7am to 11 am) where 2 hours of the educators time is devoted to each child.

What are the benefits of the Madeline Method?

The benefits of the Madeline Method are as follows:
1. It uses the current, up to date Connecticut Early Learning Development Standards (CTELDS) and developmental milestones used by accredited, high quality child care facilities.
2. This method brings the teacher to the child, which capitalizes on the benefits of the child's home environment and reduces situational anxiety as well as provides a flexible routine.
3. This method is a short time commitment on the part of the family. This will give you more time to be with your child and enjoy your time together instead of all-day childcare.
4. This method is individually tailored to each specific child. After the diagnostic evaluation, I will be able to create a daily/weekly curriculum perfectly tailored to your child's needs using the standards listed above.
5. The educator has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education with a concentration in Special Needs education and Child Psychology and is certified to teach any age child from newborn to 3rd grade. (Most preschools employ teachers who only have a Child Development Associate Credential from online schools). The educator also has an up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification.
